How I was deceived by Extreme Digital

Hello,

I bought the phone: Sony Ericsson Xperia Active (ST17i), Black Orange(Android) from the company Extreme Digital zRT. 1032 Budapest, Szentendrei ut 89-95 X. ep. Fax: 238-0865 Tel: 452-0090 Email: shop@edigital.hu Fiscal Code: RO26101777 in 11 September 2012, order number: 57195119, invoice number: 6348ARK2012.

In 11 October 2012 the phone stopped working (could not power on). I contacted the company both by phone and email, to notify about the issue. They instructed me to send the phone back to them for warranty since I have 1 year warranty. They said that the courier company will phone me to send the phone back. No one contacted me in the days that followed and in 17 th of October I emailed Extreme digital to prioritize my issue and afterwards I was contacted by them and I was able to send the phone back.

In 30th of October Extreme digital confirmed that they have received the phone and that it was sent to the service company for repair. Afterwards no feedback was given to me referring to the status of the phone.

In 12th of November given the long time the phone was into service I emailed the company and asked for the status of my phone. In the 13 th of November I received a reply to my email that the phone had traces on the screws indicating that I have tried to open the phone and because of this the phone lost it’s warranty. They said that the phone will be sent back to me on my costs.

In 13th of November I replied back to Extreme digital stating that I have NOT tried to open the phone in any way and that probably this is a misunderstanding. I requested that the time and date should be present in the photos of service. I reinforce that I never have tried to open the phone and that I wanted to be contacted by the manager to discuss the issue.

No one has contacted me since then. The next day I received the phone from the courier company and I payed for the transportation.

With the sealed box I went to Romanian Consumer Protection (OPC) and I made a complain. They have instructed me to contact the Hungarian officials since the phone was bought from a Hungarian company. On top of all this when I opened the box I realized that the power cord was not the original one that I sent but was scratched and did not match with the phone. I received the attached documents with the phone and as you can see the problem indicated by the service and repair company is no the same as Extreme Digital has mentioned to me.

I do not agree with the service’s decision and it is clear that I was deceived by the company.

I also made this complained to the Hungarian consumer protection. I am waiting for their response.
